I recently found an old suitcase that I’d forgotten about years ago. Inside, it was full of old photos, documents and memories from way back in my high school days. There were also dozens of compositions I’d written – most of which I had either little of no recollection of writing. These were pieces that I had poured hours and hours of work into and all for what? To be played once or twice (if ever) and then left to turn yellow and be forgotten in a dusty suitcase under a bed?
I thought to myself, I wonder if this is still what happens today with young composers? And I had to sadly assume, yes. Therefore, here at Creative Wire we thought we should do at least a little something to remedy this – and so we proudly launch our “showcase” section. If you’re a student and have a recorded piece (either audio or video) that you’d like to put out into the world or perhaps a score that you’d like to share, then simply either email the file or the URL along with a small blurb about yourself (or your piece) and we’ll proudly post it here!
